Our friends at the Reformed Forum are discussing the classic book, Christianity and Liberalism, by J. Gresham Machen, which was published 100 years ago this year.  The book stands out for its clear and concise way of comparing and contrasting the historic Christian faith with the liberal theology that arose in Germany in the late 1800s and made its way to our country.  Machen studied for a year in Germany prior to World War I.  Eventually he taught New Testament and Greek at Princeton Theological Seminary.

This is from the introduction to the podcast:

“Danny Olinger and Camden Bucey discuss the preface and introduction to J. Gresham Machen’s book, Christianity and Liberalism. This is the 100th anniversary of the publication of this important work. In this episode, we discuss the historical circumstances that led Machen to address the Ruling Elders Association of Chester Presbytery. His address was eventually expanded to become this classic work.”
