Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you visit and worship with us.
Christ Covenant Church is a diverse congregation comprised of people from many walks and stations of life. We attract people from Midland and the surrounding communities including of Bay City, Saginaw, and Mount Pleasant. What unites us is a love for God, a desire to worship Him with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28), and a passion for reformed theology. Our church can be summarized in the following words: Biblical, Thoughtful, Reverent, and Reformed.
Biblical – The authoritative source of our beliefs is found in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
Thoughtful – We interpret the Scriptures according to the various genres found in the Bible (prose, history, poetry, prophesy, wisdom literature, etc.). We make a careful distinction between Law and Gospel. Using biblical theology we reflect on deeper themes of Scripture often overlooked by those who approach the Bible as a book of prooftexts. We ask hard questions and seek to apply the Bible to all of life.
Reverent – Our approach to God is informed by His majesty, might, and works in redemptive history. We are guided by Hebrews 12:28-29, which implores believers to worship God “with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”
Reformed – Our doctrinal beliefs are expressed most fully in the Westminster Confession of Faith and its catechisms, which together form one of the most important sets of confessional documents produced during the Protestant Reformation. We also use the Three Forms of Unity (the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dordt), which are the confessional documents of the United Reformed Church of North America and other continental reformed churches.
We worship at 2821 Ashman Street in Midland (across from Kroger). We are affiliated with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
